Our Story
Meet John, a handy homeowner who has tackled his fair share of home and landscape projects over the years. What started with hanging Christmas lights on his own home quickly turned into helping friends and neighbors with theirs. Before long, what began as a personal project grew into an opportunity to bring that same creativity, attention to detail, and passion for holiday lighting to the surrounding community.
With a successful career in medicine, John’s approach has always been rooted in delivering a high level of patient care and customer service, both in the clinic and operating room. That same commitment became the driving force behind Creative Solutions Outdoors (CS Outdoors). From the beginning, the business was built on combining hands-on experience with technical expertise, careful planning, and a commitment to doing things the right way. These principles established a foundation centered on quality workmanship, thoughtful design, efficient project execution, safety, and exceptional customer service.
As CS Outdoors began to take shape, an unexpected encounter following a fallen tree led to meeting Brian of BH Enterprise. After experiencing the kind of customer service we all yearn for, it was a “no-brainer” to partner with Brian. Together, they saw an opportunity to combine their skills, experience, and resources to bring professional holiday lighting services to the community.
Today, CS Outdoors continues to build on that foundation, combining creativity and technical know-how with a genuine passion for transforming homes and neighborhoods during the holiday season. From the initial design and installation to maintenance and takedown, our goal remains the same as it was from day one: to deliver an unmatched experience and product for our neighbors in the community.

THE CREATOR
Meet John, jack-of-all-trades, Ironman Triathlon “nut” and entrepreneurial spirit. With over 15 years of experience in medicine and a passion for working outdoors, John has the perfect blend of brains and brawn. Born and raised around a cattle farm in Missouri, he’s no stranger to hard work and determination. And it shows in his impressive track record of completing over 20 Ironman races. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. When he’s not seeing patients, John can be found bringing his creative vision to life as the owner of a film production company or picking vegetables in his garden. And if that weren’t enough, he’s also a proud husband and father of 4 calling Winston-Salem home for over 20 years.

Meet Brian, the Renaissance man of Winston-Salem. Home grown in Winston-Salem, Brian grew up in the shadow of his father’s thriving tree business. But Brian was not content to simply follow in his father’s footsteps; he set out to forge his own path. With three children and a beautiful wife, Brian is a devoted family man, but he also knows how to push himself to the limit. He’s completed multiple grueling Ironman Triathlon races and shows no signs of slowing down. When he’s not competing, Brian can be found working tirelessly on his own tree and landscape service (BH Enterprise & Landscaping), using his entrepreneurial spirit to bring beauty to outdoor spaces. For Brian, there’s no place he’d rather be than outside, and he’s made a life and career out of doing what he loves.
